Information model

A unified digital structure that connects assets, data, and processes across the enterprise

The Information Model is a core component of the CENTO platform that provides a unified digital structure for all assets, measurements, and data sources within an enterprise. It serves as the foundation for integrating and contextualising operational data from equipment, sensors, and control systems into a single framework. This enables a clear and structured representation of an organisation’s energy, process, and infrastructure hierarchy.

The Information Model solves a fundamental problem of data fragmentation across monitoring systems, protocols, and devices. In many facilities, information about assets and energy flows is dispersed across multiple systems, making it difficult to achieve consistent analytics or create accurate dashboards. The model eliminates this issue by linking each data point, document, and signal to a defined digital object within a logical structure. This ensures that every measurement, control action, or report parameter is connected to its real-world counterpart, providing full transparency and traceability.

From raw data to a unified digital structure

CENTO’s Information Model includes several key features designed to simplify configuration and enhance usability. It supports flexible creation of object classes and attributes that describe any type of asset, from metering points to production equipment. Each class defines its own set of parameters, which can include real-time values, references to external systems, or metadata such as documentation and responsible personnel. Objects are grouped into a hierarchical tree that reflects the physical or functional structure of the site, enabling intuitive navigation and data analysis.

The model also integrates tightly with other CENTO components, allowing users to visualise equipment states on dashboards and process diagrams, analyse operational data, and generate reports based on the same underlying data structure. All configurations can be performed through a web editor or Excel templates, making large-scale setup and maintenance straightforward.

By providing a consistent digital representation of all monitored systems, the Information Model becomes the foundation for analytics, automation, and decision-making in CENTO. It ensures that data from different sources is organised, comparable, and actionable, transforming raw telemetry into a coherent and intelligent information space.
